Setting up your subscription on an LG TV — step by step

LG TVs run webOS with the LG Content Store, and the Magic Remote makes navigating easier than on any other TV. Setup here involves no typing: you install one of the supported players, send us the MAC it shows, and we activate the subscription on it. And the ready alternative for models that have no player.

Before you start

Your phone at hand

You will photograph the MAC screen and send it to us on WhatsApp — easier than copying the characters by hand.

A steady connection

15 Mbps for high definition and 30 Mbps for 4K, measured on the device itself. An Ethernet cable or 5GHz Wi-Fi gives the steadiest result.

The TV is updated

Settings › Support › Software Update. Updates fix many app and memory problems.

The steps

Open the LG Content Store
Press Home on the remote, then choose LG Content Store from the bar (it appears as Apps on newer models). With the Magic Remote, point the cursor straight at what you want.
Install one of the supported players
Search for one of the players listed below and install it if it is available for your TV model and country. Whichever appears first is enough — they all work the same way.
Open the player and note the MAC / device key
On first open the player shows a MAC address and a device key on screen. Take a photo of the screen with your phone — easier than copying the characters by hand.
Do not close or reinstall the player after the photo; reinstalling can change the key.
Send us the details on WhatsApp
Send the photo with the player’s name. We activate your subscription on this device and tell you when it is done.
Reopen the player and test
After activation reopen the player (or press Reload where there is one), wait for the channels to load, then play two channels from two different categories.

These are third-party players. Their availability depends on your TV’s manufacturer and your country; we do not own these apps and our plan does not include their licences. Install whichever is available in your TV’s store, and message us if in doubt.

After the first channel plays

1Set the quality

Start on automatic or HD and raise it to 4K once the connection proves steady at peak time.

2Organise favourites

Add the channels you actually watch to favourites so they are one press away, and hide categories you do not need.

3Set the screen

Cinema mode for films and Standard for matches, and reduce motion smoothing if fast shots look unnatural.

Common problems on this device

The app is not in the store

Availability varies by country and model year. Try the other players in the list; if none is available, an external device over HDMI is the answer — message us with the model.

The channels did not appear after activation

Reopen the player or press Reload, and make sure the MAC you sent matches the screen character for character. If you reinstalled the player, send us the new key.

The player is slow or freezes

Close other apps in the background, unplug the TV for a few seconds and restart it. Older models have limited memory.

Stutter while watching

Move the TV closer to the router or connect an Ethernet cable, pause downloads on the network, and drop the quality one step for a while.

Does the subscription work on an LG TV directly?

Which webOS version is needed?

Most recent models are fine. Send us the model number on WhatsApp and we confirm compatibility before you order.

What is the MAC and why do you need it?

An address that identifies your device, shown by the player on first open. We attach your subscription to it, so the channels appear in the player without typing any details.

I changed the TV or reinstalled the player — what now?

The key changes with a new device and sometimes with a reinstall. Send us the new MAC on WhatsApp and we update the activation.

Can I use the phone app to type?

Yes, the LG ThinQ app provides a phone keyboard that works with the TV — useful for the long server URL.

How many devices can I use?

We help you set up on two devices, with playback on one device at a time. If you need more than one screen, ask before ordering.
